Apprise Mobile Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to Apprise Mobile, published as Apprise on Google Play (“the app”).

The app is local-first. We do not operate an app backend, require an account, or include advertising, analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs. The app connects directly to the Apprise API Servers you choose to configure.

The app may store:

  • Server addresses, configuration IDs, display details, and credentials.
  • Notification URLs, tags, templates, messages, attachments, and send history.
  • Cached server configuration, service metadata, health results, and task results.
  • App preferences, diagnostic logs, and records of accepted legal documents.
  • Temporary copies of files you select or photos you take for an attachment.

Credentials are protected with the Android Keystore. Other app data remains on your device unless you choose to send, export, or back it up.

Credentials, configuration IDs, and notification URLs may authorize your server to send through connected accounts. Protect your device and backups, use strong and unique credentials with a hard-to-guess configuration ID, and replace or revoke them if you suspect they were exposed.

Apprise Mobile does not send your personal data, credentials, notification content, attachments, server details, or app activity to us, advertisers, analytics providers, or any third-party service selected by us.

Server details, credentials, notification URLs, templates, messages, and other app settings are stored locally on your device. Remote configurations remain on the Apprise API Servers you configure, and the app may cache copies locally.

When you use a notification or server-management feature, Apprise Mobile communicates directly and only with the Apprise API Servers you explicitly configure. A request may include credentials, a configuration ID, notification content, targets, tags, or attachments. When you add an attachment by URL, the app may make a one-time request directly to that URL solely to check whether it is reachable.

Any subsequent delivery to downstream notification services is performed solely by your configured server. We do not act as an intermediary, monitor, or receive that traffic. Your server operator and the notification services it contacts may process or retain the information under their own policies. Review those policies and your server configuration before sending sensitive content.

Use HTTPS when possible. With plain HTTP, data sent between the app and your server is not protected by transport encryption.

We do not receive app activity, notification content, server details, credentials, advertising identifiers, diagnostics, or crash reports. We do not sell, rent, or use your information for advertising or tracking.

Google Play Billing processes an optional premium purchase. Google handles payment details; the app receives only the purchase information needed to provide and restore premium access. Your use of Google Play is governed by Google’s privacy and security practices.

Backup and diagnostic export are optional and begin only when you request them. A backup stores credentials, notification URLs, and template content in an encrypted section. The passphrase is optional; without one, anyone with the backup can restore its secrets. Server addresses, usernames, display details, and other non-secret settings may remain readable. Files are saved to the location you choose and are never sent to us.

App data remains on your device until you delete it, an app retention setting removes it, or you uninstall the app. Files exported outside the app remain until you delete them. Data sent through your server is controlled by its operator and the destination services. Because the app has no account or developer-operated backend, there is no account data for us to delete.

The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly receive personal information from children or any other users.

We may update this policy as the app changes. When a change requires renewed acceptance, the app will ask you to review the current policy before continuing.
